YOUR VOTE MATTERS

Any one of my neighbors, who were registered to vote in the primary but failed to do so, could have changed the outcome. Yes, just one. The vote for our precinct delegate to the state convention resulted in a tie. So it went to a recount board this morning to determine a winner, and it came down to chance – the luck of the draw. This could be significant. For state positions, the voters here nearly always elect the candidate from a certain political party. Thus, for all practical purposes the actual winner is usually determined by the delegates. Only time will tell if just one of my neighbors could have altered who was ultimately elected to Auditor, Treasurer, or Secretary of State!
