Ok, I’ve heard about Facebook for nearly as long as I can remember. Everybody’s on Facebook, right? But why would I want to be on Facebook? When I was a child, our telephone used a ‘party line’ and consequently the whole neighborhood knew every detail about us. That was considered a bad thing. So did I really want to revert back to those days when everybody knew every last thing I did and thought?
But now I keep hearing that my business needs a presence on Facebook. Hmmm… I would like everyone to know about my business venture! After all, who’s going to request my services if they don’t know I exist?
So over the holiday weekend I created a Business Facebook Page for Lors Consulting, LLC (that’s a link; check it out). I’ll admit that it took more than a few minutes of my “free time.” I was a fish out of water, and had no idea how to navigate Facebook pages. I knew I wanted a ‘landing page’ that was informative and looked somewhat professional. But to accomplish that I had to put myself through a crash course on FBML, which is Facebook’s version of HTML, which is web lingo that few people speak. Oh, it was so much fun!
